Bill Simpson Obituary, Death Notice and Service Information

Bill Simpson Obituary, Death – The family wishes to express their deepest condolences following the demise of Mr. Bill Simpson, who was a real gentleman in the Dysart community. He was a very unique father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was loved by all. On December 27, 2023, Bill, who was 94 years old at the time of his passing, died away calmly and serenely at home, surrounded by his devoted family. As well as being an incredible grandfather and great-grandfather who was cherished by all of his family members, he was also a terrific friend to a vast number of people.

He was the loving and devoted husband of the late Jean (née Carrington), the cherished father of Marilyn and the late Billy (Bay), and he was also a remarkable grandfather and great-grandfather. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Bill will greatly miss him. Every member of the family and all of the friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service that will be place at the Kirkcaldy Crematorium on Friday, January 12th, 2024 at three o’clock in the afternoon.

In addition, the family would like to extend an invitation to all of you to return to the Strathearn Hotel following the funeral to have some light refreshments, as well as to share anecdotes and affectionate recollections of Bill. You are only allowed to send flowers from family members, however, if you so wish, you can donate to Marie Curie in Bill’s memory. We were able to keep all of our feet firmly planted on the ground thanks to Bill, who was not only our champion but also our rock and soul mate.

Not only did he have a wonderful sense of humor, but he also had time for everyone. His love of sailing and all things Dysart was well known, as was his resilience in the face of hardship. He was a terrific athlete when he was younger, but his main passion was sailing. At Dysart Pier, where Bill will be reunited with his cherished wife, Jean, his ashes will be dispersed all over the place. On his final journey, he will travel via Dysart, which will include the High Street, where he resided for a significant number of years, as well as the harbor that he cherished so much.
