Bruce King Obituary, Visitation and Funeral Information

Bruce King Obituary, Death – The death of Bruce D. King, who resided in Cazenovia and was 81 years old at the time of his passing, occurred at his residence on November 21, 2023. On January 23, 1942, in Rome, New York, his parents, Robert and Jane King, were overjoyed to welcome their newest addition into the world. The year 1960 saw his graduation from St. Aloysius Academy, where he had been a student. Over the course of his extensive career in the flooring industry, Bruce spent more than three decades working for Tile & Carpet Town. After working for Manco Distributors for fifteen years, he decided to retire from the company. When compared to his contemporaries, Bruce was held in very high esteem and had a great deal of notoriety.

There were many organizations within the Masonic community that Bruce was a dedicated member of. Some of these organizations include the Cazenovia Lodge #616 Free and Accepted Masons, the Washington Chapter Royal Arch Masons, the Norwich Commandery, the Knights Templar, the Syracuse Council: Cryptic Masons, the Ziyrah Shrine, and the St. Leo’s Red Cross Constantine. In addition to that, he was a member of a number of different organizations, including the Order of the Eastern Star, Madison Star #119, and Silver Star #21. Bruce had the privilege of being appointed to a large number of roles within the state, in addition to being elected to a number of positions within these organizations.
The position of District Grand Lecturer for the Cortland-Madison District of the Order of the Eastern Star was the most recent of several roles that I have held. Beginning in 1992 and continuing through the 2023-2024 time period, he was the holder of this championship for the ninth time on many occasions. His wife of forty years, Karen Marshall-King, his daughter Wendy (Keith) Horton, his granddaughter Lynn, his grandson John, his great-grandchildren Jenna, Brianna, Mathew, Jordan, Brooklyn, and Katerina, his brothers Donn, Keith (Nancy), and Robert (Joan) King, his sisters Barbara Belge, Lisa King-Smith (David), and Michele Boek, and a large number of nieces and nephews are among those who were able to carry on his legacy.

Bruce was preceded in death by his first wife, Molly King; his daughters Beth Ann and Susan; his son, Mark; and his grandson Keith Horton, Jr.; as well as by his brothers, Allen and Harold King. His parents were also among those who passed away before him. A man who was full of life and loved his family as well as all of his many friends, Bruce was a man who was full of character.
