Garda Herdman Obituary, Death –It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that Garda Síochána Meath bids farewell to a cherished member of our Little Blue Heroes family, Honorary Garda Aideen Herdman from Navan, who departed this world unexpectedly. Today, we had the solemn honor of providing the final escort and salute for our Little Blue Hero at her funeral. Our deepest condolences go out to Aideen’s loving parents, Chris and Sheona, her brothers Daniel, Ciaran, and Dylan, and the extended family and friends who share in the grief of this untimely loss. Aideen, as an Honorary Garda, not only wore the uniform with pride but exemplified bravery, honor, and courage in every step she took.

In the vast blue family of law enforcement, support transcends boundaries and distances. We extend heartfelt gratitude to the NH Police Association Pipes and Drums, who, in the spirit of solidarity, offered their sincerest condolences to the family of their sister in blue, Honorary Garda Aideen Herdman. Their music, a salute and a mark of respect, echoed the shared commitment to duty and service.

“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam” – May her soul be at the right hand of God. Aideen, our Little Blue Hero, now rests, having worn the uniform and given her best. Her bravery and smile brightened our days, and though she has taken up duty on a heavenly beat, her memory will forever linger.

As we say our farewells, we promise never to forget the times we shared with our Little Blue Hero. Aideen, now under the watchful care of angels, may you look down upon us, your guiding light shining in our hearts as we continue the noble work you so bravely exemplified. In honoring your legacy, we pledge to continue the mission you embraced with such dedication and love. Rest in peace, dear Little Blue Hero.
