Harry McKinnon Obituary, A Remarkable Life Remembered

Harry McKinnon Obituary, Death – In a poignant and unexpected turn of events, Harry McKinnon bid farewell to this world at the age of 91 on December 19th, 2023. His departure marks the end of a valiant battle, a testament to the strength and courage that defined his character. Harry’s life was intricately woven with the threads of love, family, and a deep commitment to the causes he held dear.

Harry was the devoted husband of the late Lucy, a love story that endured through time. His legacy lives on through the cherished memories they created together. As a father, Harry was a pillar of support to Jane and a respected father-in-law to Chris. His role as Pap to Robert, Steph, Joey, and Olivia was filled with love, laughter, and the warmth that only a grandfather can provide.

The Cathedral of The Holy Trinity in Gibraltar will host a funeral service on Friday, December 22nd, at 1:30 pm, followed by the journey to Gibraltar Crematorium. All who knew Harry are respectfully invited to pay their last respects, a testament to the impact he had on the lives of those around him. In lieu of family flowers, the McKinnon family requests donations be made at the service to support two local charities close to Harry’s heart: Save Gibraltar Street Cats and The EV Foundation Trust.

These contributions will serve as a lasting tribute to Harry’s compassionate spirit and commitment to the well-being of his community. Special gratitude is extended to Revd Ian Tarrant, Andrea Forde, and Heather Lister for their unwavering support and friendship. The staff on Dudley Toomey Ward also receives heartfelt thanks for their care, compassion, love, and friendship during Harry’s courageous battle.

As Harry takes his final journey, may the memories of his love, kindness, and dedication to meaningful causes bring comfort to those who mourn his passing. May he rest in peace, his legacy echoing through the lives he touched and the charitable causes he championed.
