Heidi Alvis Obituary Car Accident Swansboro NC, Swansboro woman dies from injuries


Heidi Alvis Obituary, Death – A jogger who was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday morning as they were out for their morning run has sadly departed away. Heidi Alvis, 45, a resident of Swansboro, was running close to the intersection of Corbett Avenue and Old Hammock Road in Swansboro on the morning of December 19, 2023, at approximately 11:18 a.m. On Corbett Avenue, she was struck by a car that was traveling in the westbound direction.

Alvis was transported to a regional trauma facility in Greenville with injuries that were thought to be life-threatening after being removed from the scene by Onslow County Emergency Medical Services. Alvis’s injuries were considered to be life-threatening. The tragic news is that she passed away on Sunday, December 24th, 2023 in Greenville as a result of the injuries she sustained.

The motorist who was involved in the incident is a man named Patrick Kennedy, who is 51 years old and resides in Tarawa Terrace. It has been claimed by Chief Dwayne Taylor of the Swansboro Police Department that the investigation is still ongoing, although no charges have been brought forth at this time.
