Jane Owsley Obituary, Death – In loving memory of Jane S. Owsley, who departed this world on December 18, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and kindness that touched the lives of many. Born on October 4, 1944, to the late Arthur and Loyett Stallings, Jane was a beloved resident of Alexander City, Alabama. Her heart of gold endeared her to her family, neighbors, and the entire community.

A faithful attendee of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Opelika, Jane’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment to serving others. Jane’s generosity knew no bounds, and she was known for her acts of kindness, including delivering food to those in need. Her warm spirit and friendly demeanor meant she never met a stranger, making her a cherished presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Jane is survived by her Godson, Robert Scott, grandsons Bo King, Adam Owsley (Alicia), Michael Owsley (Stephanie), God-grandchildren Tucker Scott, Beau Scott, Madison Scott, Sawyer Scott, and Chloe Scott, as well as great-grandchildren Ace King, Mylle Owsley, Emmett Owsley, Grady Owsley, Fynlee Owsley, Peyton Owsley, and Katie Owsley.

She is also survived by sisters Cheryl Suddeth, Darlene Williams, Susie Kelley (Ricky), Michelle Koster (John), brother Mike Stallings, and her best friend, Dorothy Scott. Numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins also mourn the loss of a woman they loved with all their hearts. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Loyett Stallings, her loving husband Raymond Owsley, and her son, Wayne King.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home. The service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean, with interment at Garden Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1000 4th Ave, Opelika, Alabama, ensuring that Jane’s spirit of giving lives on. May Jane’s memory be cherished by all who knew and loved her, and may her legacy of love and kindness inspire others to follow in her footsteps.
