Jason Martin Obituary, Death – The community of Hoisington mourns the loss of a beloved member, Jason L. Martin, 49, who departed on December 18, 2023, at Clara Barton Hospital ER, Hoisington, Kansas. Jason’s life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. Born on October 5, 1974, in Great Bend, Kansas, Jason was the son of Rick Kleck and Cynthia Martin.

His journey through life included notable achievements, beginning with his graduation from Hoisington High School in 1993, where he excelled in football. This prowess earned him a scholarship to play at Garden City Community College and later at Washburn University. On October 4, 2008, Jason married the love of his life, Trisha L. Funk, in Milberger, Kansas. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Aubree and Ava. Jason, a devoted husband and father, found joy in every moment spent with his family, attending their events, cheering them on, and engaging in spirited board game competitions.

A lifelong resident of Hoisington, Jason contributed 22 years of service to the railroad. Beyond his primary profession, he explored roles as a bondsman and property manager. His involvement in the First Christian Church highlighted his commitment to faith and community. Known as an avid outdoorsman, Jason’s love for hunting and fishing became a defining aspect of his character.

The Martin household witnessed extraordinary 4th of July celebrations, orchestrated with enthusiasm by Jason, leaving lasting memories for all who attended. Survived by his wife Trisha, daughters Aubree and Ava, and loyal canine companion Lexus, Jason is remembered by his extended family. He is survived by his father, Rick (Cindy) Kleck; mother, Cindy Martin; brothers Jared (Allie) Guesnier, Brian (Carri) Kleck, and Adam (Lauren) Kleck; sisters Jill (Dan) McCreary and Amy (Adam) Mistler; grandmother, Joan Tenbarge; and parents-in-law, Cindy (Clif) Strickland and Dennis (Sue) Funk, among others.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry & Esther Martin and George Kleck, and his beloved hunting dog, Deuce, Jason’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., with burial at Hoisington Cemetery.
