Mark Ravenscroft Obituary, Death – At his home in McCoole, Maryland, on Friday, Mark Stephen Ravenscroft, Sr., who was 67 years old, passed peacefully without any further suffering. At the time of his passing, he was encircled by various members of his family and friends. He came into the world on November 11th, 1955, in the town of Keyser, West Virginia. Both of his parents, Frank Junior Ravenscroft and Virginia Juanita (McDonald) Ravenscroft, had already passed away before the birth of their infant son. In addition to him, his wife, Phillis (Sites) Gerard Ravenscroft, who passed away on October 3, 2021, was another person who had passed away before him.

Additional members of his family, including his daughter Regina Corine Surma and his great-granddaughter Jaelynn Woods, passed away before him. In 1973, he received his diploma from Bruce High School and served as an employee of the Westvaco Luke Mill until the time of his retirement. One of the former workers, Mr. Ravenscroft, had retired. During his period of service, he attended services at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Westernport as well as the United States Coast Guard. Both of these houses of religion were important to him. When he was younger, he was a very active member of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He continued to be involved in the Scouts even after he became an adult and rose through the ranks to become a leader for the Scouts.

He took pleasure in spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, as well as going fishing, going to the beach, eating, and eating while eating. He also enjoyed eating to eat. Among those who have survived him are his children, Mark “Stephen” Ravenscroft, Jr. and his wife Eugenie, who reside in Romney, West Virginia; Angela Llewellyn and her husband Herb, who are in McCoole; and Frank T. “TG” Gerard, who also resides in McCoole. He also leaves behind a great-granddaughter named Raelynn Woods, as well as six grandchildren: Tommy Llewellyn, Alexis Ravenscroft and her boyfriend Derrick Hardman, Mercedes Ravenscroft and her partner A’rmon Woods, Caiden Ravenscroft, Paisley Ravenscroft, Maddix Ravenscroft, and Maddix Ravenscroft.

In addition, he leaves behind a great-granddaughter named Raelynn Woods. A great number of his nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he cherished, as well as his particular feline pals Gracie, Pudgie, and Marley, are among those who have survived. His sister Katherine Kight and her husband Jim, who reside in Somerset, Pennsylvania, are also among those who have survived.
