Rantoul IL, Christmas Day, I-57 Crash kills two on Christmas Day

Rantoul IL, Christmas Day – The deadly collision that occurred two miles north of Rantoul in Champaign County has resulted in the closure of Interstate 57, which has remained closed for several hours despite the passage of several hours. According to the Illinois State Police, two people have been found to have passed away as a direct consequence of the collision that occurred. At around 2:50 p.m., an accident occurred on the County Road 3200 bridge, which is located at the interchange of Interstate 57. The bridge is an important part of the transportation system. During the crash, there were three vehicles involved.

It was stated that a truck-tractor semi-trailer that was heading northbound on the interstate collided with a vehicle that was traveling westbound on CR 3200. The vehicle fell from the overpass onto the interstate and went into collision with the semi-trailer. The information in question was supplied by the State Police. An additional vehicle was heading southbound on Interstate 57 when it was struck by debris that had been left behind by the two automobiles that came before it. The debris had been left behind by the two vehicles that came before it.
However, despite the fact that both of the drivers of the automobile moving westbound and the semi-truck traveling northward had injuries that were considered to be life-threatening, they finally perished away as a result of the injuries they sustained. According to the reports, it did not appear that the third car was responsible for any injuries that were sustained.

As a consequence of the collision, the freeway was shut down, and it is quite probable that the closure will extend well into the night in order to make room for the investigation that is being carried out by the Illinois State Police. In light of the fact that traffic on Interstate 57 is now being rerouted between the Paxton and Rantoul exits, it has been brought to the notice of motorists that they should make use of US 45 as an alternative route.
